The South East Zonal Congress of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) in Nigeria is a branch of COEASU Nigeria, which was constitutionally created by the Union (COEASU) for administrative convenience. The Zone or the South East Zonal Delegate Congress of COEASU overseas the various chapters of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union in the South East Zonal at the instance of the President of COEASU through a Zonal Coordinator for the Zone.
COEASU is a union that represents the interests of academic staff in colleges of education, advocating for their welfare, development, and improvement of the education sector in Nigeria. The South East Zonal Congress serves as a platform for COEASU members to discuss pertinent issues in the education sector, exchange ideas, and develop strategies to enhance the quality of education provided by colleges of education in the region. This congress plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of academic staff's demands and concerns, ultimately aiming to improve the standards of education and create a conducive working environment for educators. The South East ZDC is overseen by three officers of the Union. Namely the Zonal Coordinator, the Zonal Secretary and the Zonal Treasurer. Other officers of the Zone are the Chairmen and Secretaries of all the Chapters in the Zone
